In
1999 he was given the opportunity to drive the 3-D bodied
truck Bull Dozer. After only one year in the truck,
he caught the eye of WCW wrestling star Bill Goldberg
who asked him to create a team and design and build
a futuristic SUV. The Goldberg truck debuted in Atlanta,
GA in January of 2000 in front of a sold-out crowd of
64,000. The win that night was only the beginning of
what would be a successful 2000 season leading to a
Monster Jam Racing Series Champion title. Tom Meents,
in the Goldberg truck, spent the next year raising the
bar and setting new standards in the Monster Truck racing
series.
In
2002 Tom’s Team made their final transformation
into Team Meents Maximum Destruction. His most successful
truck yet, in the last two years Tom has beaten every
conceivable monster truck in the business including
Grave Digger, Big Foot, and any other competitor getting
in his path. He has also constructed a team of monster
truck drivers out of his image. These individuals represent
the best in up-and-coming monster truck pilots who run
the team’s equipment just as hard as Tom does.
Tom’s mission has always been to give show-stopping
performances, hold nothing back, and leave the crowd
in awe.
Whether
you are seeing Tom Meents in action, or one of his team
members, they are sure to give the crowds a great show
and run the wheels off their trucks, while living up
to the team motto, “Maximum Destruction”.
